Karan Bhugra founded Thrive Legal after years inside the personal-injury industry, including running pre-litigation operations at the largest injury firm in the country. He started his own firm to practice law the way he thought it should be done: the attorney who takes your case is the one who answers your calls, deals with the insurance company, and only gets paid if you win.

Most recently, Karan served as a Director at Morgan & Morgan — the largest personal injury firm in the country — where he led a 70-person team of attorneys, paralegals, and case managers overseeing more than 100,000 motor-vehicle and premises-liability cases. He built and scaled the pre-litigation operations that decide how fast a claim moves and how hard it gets fought — the difference between a lowball offer and full value. That same big-firm machinery now powers every case at Thrive Legal, without the assembly-line treatment.

His roots are in New Jersey law. Karan began his career as a judicial extern to Judge Martinotti of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Bergen County, working on landmark mass-tort litigation — including the NuvaRing, Prudential, and Stryker cases. He went on to advise leading legal organizations as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, sharpening the strategy instincts he now brings to every negotiation, before returning to do what he set out to do: fight for injured New Jerseyans directly.

A proud Rutgers University graduate and a Cooley Law School Juris Doctor, Karan is also a Certified Mediator — training that lets him read the other side and know exactly when to settle and when to push. He personally oversees every case the firm takes on.
